29.03. – KLIMADISKURSE VI with Prof. Dr. Ralf Ludwig

On March 29, 2022, the KLIMADISKURSE, our public event and discussion series around climate change and its impacts, initiated by bayklif’s junior research groups, will take place for the sixth and last time. The upcoming event will focus on the projection of climatic extremes:
The catastrophic flooding of the Ahr and Erft rivers in the summer of 2021 dramatically demonstrated to us the forces of nature that result from weather extremes. As climate change progresses, the probability of such events increases, according to the unanimous conclusion of many climate models. But how precise are the projections and what uncertainties do they involve? This will be discussed by Ralf Ludwig, Professor of Geography and Environmental Modeling at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich.
