About Bayklif

At the center of the bayklif funding structure there are two network-based funding models:

On the one hand, financial support will go to interdisciplinary senior research associations in which several subprojects work together on a central research question regarding climate change and its consequences. On the other hand, new and independent junior research groups will be funded, thereby recruiting outstanding scientists for Bavaria. If thematically reasonable, junior groups may also affiliate with senior research associations in order to fully integrate into the Bavarian research landscape

A central focus of bayklif is to connect all funded projects through regular workshops and seminars to ensure close interdisciplinary cooperation. A comprehensive concept consisting of symposia, political events and educational programs will help maintain an open dialogue with the general public and give bayklif visibility both on a national and international level. The main office of bayklif supports the researchers with a central function: It coordinates the network administration and organization, helps to establish contact with representatives of the Bavarian ministries as well as other initiatives of climate policy and serves as central turning point regarding public relations.

Scientific Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board is composed of international experts, councils the research group leaders and evaluate the research quality. The body of experts makes recommendations for the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, that are transmitted to the research groups and implemented by the scientific representatives and the bayklif main office.
