WMO: Compared to all other continents, temperatures in Europe have risen twice as much

A new report by the United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in collaboration with the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) shows that temperatures in Europe have risen twice as much by 2021 compared to the rest of the world.

According to “The State of the Climate in Europe report”, temperatures in Europe rose by an average of +0.5 °C per decade between 1991 and 2021. As a result, Alpine glaciers lost 30 metres of ice thickness between 1997 and 2021.
