Interview with Prof. Barth on the role of small rivers and their valley meadows in flood protection

In a BR television contribution on flood protection in the city of Nürnberg, Prof. Johannes Barth (from the senior research consortium AquaKlif) makes a case for giving small rivers such as the Pegnitz some space: the shallow valley meadow of the Pegnitz functions quite well in as a measure of flood protection. Therefore, one should carefully considere where to build and where not to build rainwater retention basins.
