The pollen season starts before the bloom – interview with Prof. Annette Menzel

In an rbb-interview with radioeins, the ecoclimatologist Prof. Dr. Annette Menzel explains, how pollen can affect people suffering from allergies even before domestic plants are starting to bloom. In a recent study, BAYSICS researchers found out that pollen can travel several hundred kilometres. Therefore, people suffering from Birch allergy may already react to pollen in the air when the local birch hasn’t even started their blooming season.
