On December 19, 2022, the 15th World Conference on Nature (COP15) in Montreal ended with the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). This framework sets out 23 targets to be achieved by 2030. For example, 30 percent of the Earth and 30 percent of the oceans are to be protected by 2030.
