On Saturday, September 17, 2022, a half-hour documentary about research in AquaKlif will be broadcasted on the BR magazine “Gut zu wissen”. Afterwards, the documentary will be available in the BR-Mediathek.
In many areas, small streams and forest springs are in danger: they carry less and less water, are silting up and their water is becoming less and less oxygenated. This has far-reaching consequences, as the small streams feed large rivers and are also in exchange with groundwater – and thus our drinking water.
The researchers in the AquaKlif joint project are therefore comprehensively investigating small streams and forest springs – with alarming results. However, solutions have also been found on how to improve the condition of streams and forest springs.
