The Bayerischer Rundfunk recently reported on the current forest dieback in Germany: Link. This is a research topic that also concerns the bayklif groups BLIZ and HyBBEx. The two groups have developed a forest condition monitor which can be used to visualise the condition of the forests over a wide area. With the help of the forest condition monitor, the condition of the forests in Germany and Europe can be visualised across the board. For this purpose, remote sensing data will be used to determine the greenness of the vegetation and compare it with long-term observations. On the website you can follow the forest condition monitor and compare different dry summers.
