More and more animal species in Germany and Bavaria are threatened. Just how drastically biodiversity is dwindling is shown, for example, by the latest evaluation of the Living Planet Index compiled by the WWF: the vertebrate populations observed in it, distributed all over the world, are shrinking by 69 percent on average.
