Dr. Christian Hof, head of the junior research group MintBio in the bayklif research network, will report on his research findings in his public (digital) lecture on January 17 – this time in the lecture series at Hellabrunn Zoo.
Besides climate change, the biodiversity crisis – the loss of biological diversity – is one of the great challenges of our time. In particular, ongoing land-use change worldwide – the destruction of natural habitats and the intensification of agricultural use – has already led to the extinction of countless species as well as the shrinking of remaining populations. But climate and biodiversity change do not just run side by side, they also influence each other. The lecture by Christian Hof shows how both crises are connected, how animal species react to global warming, and who are the winners and losers in climate change.
